Rex Madden

Director of Technology, Principal

Rex has been fine-tuning his expertise in Extreme Programming and Test Driven Development for the majority of his 12+ years of programming. Prior to joining Cyrus Innovation, he helped start several businesses, including Fetch-a-Flick, Simply Prepaid, and microCreditCard. Being both part owner and lead developer on these ventures facilitated focusing on the customer first and building only what was necessary to increase revenues or cut costs.

This dual role also led Rex to use lightweight Java Open Source tools such as Hibernate, WebWork, FIT and JMock, which help to isolate complex problem domains without imposing themselves on the object model.

Rex started his career at American Management Systems, a billion-dollar IT consulting firm. There he worked on several multimillion-dollar imaging and workflow systems in industries such as insurance and credit card processing, using FileNet, Microsoft COM, Visual Basic, Oracle PL/SQL and many other technologies.

He graduated from Cornell University with a BS in Industrial and Labor Relations.
