Bruce co-founded Cyrus Innovation in 2003 after working with the interactive media firm IconNicholson, the New York office of the European Consultancy Icon Media Lab. He has the innate ability to cut to the heart of a problem, quickly understand how a business works, how it generates revenue and what role software plays in the overall picture.
Bruce obtained his Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Architecture from McGill University in Montreal and practiced architecture for several years before moving into interactive technology development. He joined Nicholson NY, which later became IconNicholson, where he worked with WebMD, the Department of Defense, Sony, Motorola and Prada, developing technology strategies and managing consulting engagements.
Bruce has deep experience analyzing businesses, strives to help a client see the realities of whatever situation they're in and articulates their options in a clear and concise manner. Once a client's objectives are clarified, Bruce then focuses on aligning Cyrus's Agile consulting, coaching and team augmentation services to meet those objectives. He has worked diligently to reduce the risks inherent in Agile adoption and development projects, and to boost the likelihood of success.
"I use Agile/Scrum to help a manager quickly see where the risks are," says Bruce, "and make adjustments while there's still time. Agile lets a manager actually manage a project rather than just hope it turns out okay."
Bruce has contributed to several articles about business and technology in BusinessWeek, RFID Journal, the former Executive Technology, and others, and has presented at several conferences, including, the APLN (Agile Project Leaders Network) and Agile Development Conference.
